Aunt Bon's Spring Stars

I made this for my Mom's best friend when she was diagnosed with cancer. Her sister sent it back to me after she died, saying that Aunt Bon had refused to use it because it was 'too nice' but she took it to all of her chemo appointments so she could show it off. Somehow she always ended up bundled up in it after her treatments...   Now my kids snuggle in it. I like to think their great 'aunt' is giving them hugs through it.:)

Like so many of my other snuggly quilts, I backed this one with flannel. I put a little lady bug button on one of the center squares (bought in a quilt shop near her old home) and quilted a spider web in one corner.  The only other moderately interesting thing about this quilt is that it was pieced and quilted on my 1929 Singer treadle, since it's the only machine I had at the time.  Ironically, I think it's the same pattern Leslie used for her brown and pink stars. :D

CC, I love the colors in this one.

Cc, the brown and pink is another of Nana, boxy stars.

Very pretty CC.  I love the story behind it
