I wanted to repost my brothers quilt. This day, July 4th...he leaves on his 4th trip to Iraq. I am so proud of my brother and he's one of the reasons I make Quilts of Valor. Here's is a note my sister in law wrote today....thought it was worth sharing with his quilt:

Deployment #4
So the count down has
now begun, and all the packing has been done. Camo bags sit by the door,
just like the 3 times before. Our home is filled with 3 sad faces,
while you go off to far away places. Another year you will be gone,
while we wait, trying to be strong. It never gets easier, chancing fate,
or living this military life of hurry up and wait. But as you leave on
this specific day, I am remind why we live this way. So once again we
will watch you go, but not before I am sure you know. That even though
without you is hard, and leaves us feeling lonely and scarred. Our love
for you will never falter, nor will it ever change or be altered. So
stay safe and come home to us, we can't wait to see that big white bus!
