It now lives in my cubicle at work where I can look at it every day. I used a charm pack of coordinating prints and I purchased it at Walmart. I also used pieces from a Bella Solid charm pack for the white pieces. I used an hourglass pattern and quilted a diagonal crosshatch. The back is a coordinating piece of yardage from the same line. I binded it in black. If you see the piece of binding that is not in black, but in a color, that is where I ran out of binding. That piece is what covers the back of the quilt. I received compliments for what I saw as a mistake and I've not only accepted it, I think I'll make it my quilt signature!

Pinky Please quilt top - WIP

a WIP lap quilt for my MIL. I used a disappearing nine-patch to create the blocks and rotated them randomly. For the nine patch blocks I used charms from two moda Coquette charm packs and a few white Bella Solid charms. Each block contained eight print charms and one white solid in the middle. I decided to use sashing and a border to increase the size of the quilt. Because the horizontal sashing was longer than the WOF I joined them end to end and then cut what I needed. I made my horizontal sashing wider than the vertical sashing. I used white yardage and pink print yardage for that. I had one extra block that I am saving to make a matching pillow. I need to purchase some batting and a print for the back. I will either echo quilt or stitch in the ditch on my machine. I will also fuse either flowers, hearts, or words over the most obvious seams where I joined my horizontal sashing end to end. If the seam allowance disappears when I make my sandwich, I will leave it alone but I want to really customize it for her.
