A quilt I made for my great nephew who is a Marine. I took this quilt apart 2 different times because I didn't like it. I'm still not satisfied, but I finally just gave up and finished it as I wanted to get it to him before he was deployed again.

Finished this quilt earlier this week...haven't quite determined the recipient yet as I think all my current expecting mothers are having girls, and DD2 thinks this quilt is masculine, even though it is quilted in hearts.

Crib Quilt

Started this quilt, but ran out of scrap fabric that blended, so turned it into a crib quilt that I will send to a Great (Grand) nephew and his wife who are expecting a baby girl in July.

My first paper pieced quilt top

I just finished the top of a crib quilt after taking the first class on Craftsy of Peggy Martin's paper piecing method. So easy and even though I lost a couple of the points when sewing the blocks and rows together, I really love the result.

I made this queen-sized Quilt of Valor for my husband who is a VietNam veteran. I quilted it on my mid-arm with just a swirl and star all over pattern.

Here is my Asian Scrappy Road quilt, the pattern came from Quilter's Word, October 2011. I haven't bound it yet...can't decide what I want to bind it with.

Harvest Time...from the Fall Fabric Swap

This was made from a really simple pattern furnished by Quilt Daddy with our Fall Fabric Swap. It measures about 70 X 70. I think it turned out real well. It has machine quilted with meandering in the body and loops in the borders.

These are the 6 blocks I have completed. The one for today is in the top row center. I still think the "friendship star" is just too plain for this. I'm either going to have to dress it up somehow or replace it altogether with one a little more intricate. What do you think?

Pieced and appliqued table topper

My youngest daughter took this picture of the table topper I made for her (I forgot to take a picture of it), and it's kind of dark but maybe you can see what it looks like, She wanted black and white (I added the red because I though it needed something). She is partial to stars so I appliqued a couple on the center block.

My First Quilt

This the first real quilt I made. I made it for my father's 82nd birthday as a lap quilt to use when watching television in the evenings. As you can see, he put it on the bed and doesn't use it as it was intended. It was machine pieced and stitched in the ditch.

Table topper, 24" X 24"

This is the table topper I just finished for my daughter. She chose black, white and blue as the colors for her dining room. I used all scraps/stash I had on hand, and managed to use a piece of the batting that was a large scrap.

"Hearts and Diamonds", a queen-sized quilt made for nieces wedding. The pattern "Diamonds" can be found in the February 2011 issue of Quilter's World.

When I told my niece I would make her a quilt for her wedding, she chose blacks, golds and tans as her colors of choice. I searched and searched for a pattern that might work with this color palette and then ordered fabric on line. I had to add "cream" to the palette so the pattern would "pop", and then after completing the top, I quilted using meandering and "hearts". In the four corner pieces, I actually quilted their names and wedding date inside quilted hearts. I was exceptionally pleased with the result.

"Over the Hill" made for my daughter's 30th birthday.

Even though this fabric was kind of macabre with all of the skeleton heads, the roses were beautiful and I couldn't resist it. My daughter loved it and several of the party attendees (all young women) wanted one too. But alas, I never make two of the same quilt so they are still "wanting".
