Crib Quilt

Started this quilt, but ran out of scrap fabric that blended, so turned it into a crib quilt that I will send to a Great (Grand) nephew and his wife who are expecting a baby girl in July.

Not a great job with the quilting, but it is finished and in the mail to my niece.

"Hopscotch", using pre-cut 2-1/2 inch strips in bright colors from Blank Quilting. Pattern adapted slightly from "Batiks Squared" from the August 2010 Quilter's World.

A lap-sized quilt made from pre-cut 2-1/2" pre-cut strips. I did have to go online and find some additional fabric to finish it off, and it taught me a lesson to make sure I had enough fabric to finish what I begin. I have a tendency to purchase fabric impulsively and then decide what I'm going to use it on at a later date. I was lucky with this quilt, I was able to find enough of the same fabrics to make the borders and back.

Working with batiks is one of my favorite things to do. Started this quilt using random 2-1/2" strips from assorted batiks and charm squares I had acquired over a period of time. Used a patriotic batik for the backing..
