iPad cover

dear Hubby got an iPad for his 35th anniversary gift from his company. Couldn't BELIEVE the prices for covers in the stores, so I found this one (chicaandjo.com) and made it up with a leather-look mat'l and used foam board on the inside. Super-easy to make!

great fun and pretty easy to make; I used 3 magnetic snaps instead of velcro (pattern calls for either). Also used wof for handles rather than piecing them.

Bucket Bag - the LARGE one

I saw this at one of my favorite quilt shops and thought, "Wow, what a great idea!" So of course, I bought another tote pattern. I choose to make the large one (pattern comes with 3 pattern sizes). Once I understood the directions, it went together quickly. Used up material a friend sent from Germany, so it will be a reminder.

made using the 'new' laminate material (like what those of us old enough to remember called oil cloth, but sooooo much better!) and screen-stuff like you'd find in a pre-made pet carrier (soft and pliable). ignored directions and made the outside be pockets (why would the directions call them pockets, but not have them either sewn down or have openings?) and added the inside pocket. Wish I had made everything from the laminate material, which was pretty easy to sew on. I DID NOT pin it, but used my quilt clips (those little red/clear things) and they worked like a dream at holding the screening and the material.

great tote and lots of fun to make. The polka dot is the new oilcloth material (I would suggest using clips to hold it in place and not pins). This was a fun pattern, but the mat'l called for on the pattern would've left me with left over 'hunks' of not-necessarily-stashability mat'l, so I'm glad I laid it out on what I had BEFORE I cut it out. Also, no pockets inside tote, but that was an easy fix.

found this really cute quilters panel; cut it apart & used it for the pocket portions on this tote. Had a new way, for me, to put in a top zipper - good thing I could watch that online (over & over & over & over).

Twelve Pocket tote

I tried out some of the new oilcloth for this tote. 6 pockets on the outside (3 per side) and 6 inside (3 per side). Hardest part was getting the grommets to click together! Was a fun pattern to make up.

great little tote bag pattern; just 6 fat quarters; front & back. Has pockets inside & I strengthened the bottom between the lining & outside, then sewed buttons on the bottom to help keep lining, plastic canvas & outside together (plus it won't be sitting 'flat' on the floor then)

front & back of a Halloween themed grocery bag/tote. This was made with 2 panel pieces; a couple of cute buttons for the added flair. Used the webbing stuff for the handle (so much easier than making my own).
