meet Yardos, their spaceship, Nedol, Roolar, Kwiltor, Klawth, Noshunz, Ilastik, Bobenz and Soe.

Started out following directions & using fusibles for the pieces. That stopped after the first dude. Switched to interfacing for the rest of the quilt. First one was also totally hand sewn (machine just would not deal with the fusible). All the rest I was able to machine appliqued down, which allowed me to use some different stitches besides button-hole.

Bears in the Wood

watercolor quilt with sewn on bears (fussy cut from material), mountains, 'snow', trees & trunks & rocks.

Al's woodland animals

felted wool to make the animals; started out machine appliqueing them, but finished them (most all of them) by hand. didn't see the mistake in the pattern till it was all together & quilted.

birthday bears on parade

this was my 'do-it-yourself' birthday gift from my husband. Then in my stash, I found some old bear mat'l and what was, at one time, going to be a tote bag, so that became the backing. The bear cut-outs came pre-cut; I started out machine appliqueing, but then finished hand appliqueing cuz it looked better.
