I originally learned this as a split bull's eye (cut each square into quarters and sew with 'new' friends) but we liked the material so much we decided not to split them up. Circles are hand-cut (no template) and the 'back' part cut out so the thickness (or the color show through) is taken care of. I also decided to make the binding ragged edge.

Courthouse Steps with a twist - for a boy

another of the courthouse steps - make 12 squares, cut them diagonally, pair them up with a different 1/2 and, viola'! a new quilt.

Four Wise Owls

fun pattern to make, but be sure to read the directions carefully, or you'll be like me & get to rip out some seams!

Courthouse Steps with a twist - red

made with materials from the 70's and 80's. One set is from the great grandmother, other materials from grandmother, some from the grand-godmother for a cute little girl.
