Trick or Treat

(the entire wall hanging is on left, close-up on right) I bought the pattern but NOT the panel; made my own panel with some fussy cut stuff from other mat'l. Quilted ghosts on the panel part (notice the ghost in the upper window). Then did stitch in the ditch on the half-square triangles. Despite measuring over & over, everything did not quite fit as nicely as I would've hoped.

Square Circles

This is a pattern from Schnibbles - I'd been looking at her books, but found this single pattern & thought I'd try it. The actual pattern name is Paginini (I think), but to me it looks like square circles. Used up many charm squares and cut a bunch of 2" squares. Easy to make.

Christmas material gift exchange challenge

The quilt group I belong to did a Christmas gift exchange of material & we were challenged to use the material and to make a table runner. Half-square triangles, with white for the snow and pretty squares. Quick & easy.

felted wool to make the animals; started out machine appliqueing them, but finished them (most all of them) by hand. didn't see the mistake in the pattern till it was all together & quilted.

3D Charm school

5 inch squares; directions called for leafing the "outside" 1/2 square triangles (they are folded on top of the blue squares) as 'just folded'. Really? And just how many things can I catch under those "lips". Needless to say, I top stitched the down as part of the quilting.

Christmas Tree

all 4-1/2 in. squares (half-square triangles start out at 5-in). All leftover Christmas mat'l. Great way to use scraps. Decorated with pins, ribbon (see the packages), earrings and a few "sparkles". Also quilted stars in the 'all white' squares, quilted candles where the end of a branch sat with an all white half-square. Easy & fun!
