Courthouse Steps with a Twist

This was one of those free patterns we all get tempting us to get another magazine subscription. Liked the pattern, but not in the colors they had. I had a stash of sewing related material that worked out perfectly PLUS some tape measure ribbon I'd bought eons ago. "Artistically" draped the ribbon and quilted the squares.

made from fat quarters (except the lining). Made freezer paper templates. Not necessarily a tote I'd make again

was a fun tote to make, once I understood the directions. Would probably make another (or 2 or 3). Templates made from 3 ironed together pieces of freezer paper (makes a nice strong template) for the rose, the rest is just easy straight lines & 1 zipper

Women of the Bible

Each quilt square represents a story about one of the Women in the Bible. This was great fun to make and many types of quilting - applique, piecing, etc..

Stars on the Courthouse Steps

Buggy Barn method of star making and courthouse step making. Used a bunch of the fat quarter I had, so didn't need to purchase any mat'l for the front until I needed binding. Piano key border made from leftover strips. Quilted (cloud-type quilting) by a professional quilter and friend (wouldn't begin to fit with my machine or space available.)

Iron caddy & "ironing board"

used both already made ironing board fabric (the silver stuff you iron on) plus a sheet of ironing silver with two layers of batting (the kind you'd use for the microwave or the heat-type); easy pattern - make a "center", then sewing on the lines you've drawn, put on handles, elastic to catch buttons, binding, place buttons and you're done!
