Christmas Trees from yo-yo's

the large tree took 84 yo-yo's, using the middle size circle of the yo-yo maker, OR if you're making without that template, I used 4-1/2 inch squares. These are on the styrofoam forms typically found in the floral dept. I used what was their biggest and middle size. The angel tree-toppers came from the dollar store. I also used a piece of mat'l to cover the base and the top of the tree to keep the styrofoam from showing. The bases are inverted votive light holders (also from the dollar store).

Christmas Triptych - in blues

the pieces can be purchased - they come pre-cut with iron-on to add to your own material choice. I sewed down the black (just don't trust the iron on to stay), then shadow quilted using invisible thread. Added a few embellishments on haloes, stars and kings. Made bias tape binding (so it would like nice around the top curve). Also used floral wiring to help the top keep shape when hanging. Hangers are cafe curtain rings, one per hanging.

same pattern as the rose table runner, but winter colors. Loved the material - it reminded me of pictures my Aunt Ruth painted.

The quilt group I belong to did a Christmas gift exchange of material & we were challenged to use the material and to make a table runner. Half-square triangles, with white for the snow and pretty squares. Quick & easy.

I did two of these, this one in black, and one in blue. easy to do, but watch out for burning your fingers as you iron the lines down. I used fancy buttons for the center of teh flowers.

Half-circle reversible napkins

ok, so I got a kit to make the chili pepper napkins. Then, since it was near my sister's birthday, I thought, what the heck, quick, easy gift. So she got 4 (I've since been informed I should've made her 5 of each) of all but the peppers. These are showing the reverse of what I made except for the 4th of July, St. Patrick's Day and the doggie material ones. Quick & easy, made a template out of plastic rather then keep using the paper.
