Jelly Roll quilt

made with 1 set of a jelly roll (plus the extra for an outside border and binding. Backed in Minky for a super-soft & cuddly quilt. Quick & easy to make; it took more time to iron the seams than anything else.

great fun and pretty easy to make; I used 3 magnetic snaps instead of velcro (pattern calls for either). Also used wof for handles rather than piecing them.

Bucket Bag - the LARGE one

I saw this at one of my favorite quilt shops and thought, "Wow, what a great idea!" So of course, I bought another tote pattern. I choose to make the large one (pattern comes with 3 pattern sizes). Once I understood the directions, it went together quickly. Used up material a friend sent from Germany, so it will be a reminder.

great little tote bag pattern; just 6 fat quarters; front & back. Has pockets inside & I strengthened the bottom between the lining & outside, then sewed buttons on the bottom to help keep lining, plastic canvas & outside together (plus it won't be sitting 'flat' on the floor then)

Jan's 5-yard quilt

great, easy pattern and 5 1-yard cuts for the front. We made this for our friend, Jan, for comfort at the recent loss of her beloved hubby. Added a few panels from "words from the Psalms" to make it special. It was quilted, wonderfully and quickly, by our friend Sue.

Witch Hazel

Witch Hazel is 2" squares. The hat brim is a piece of very stiff felt, the hair is red yarn. Her 'snaggle-tooth' is a small with button, her eyes are black buttons. The boot buttons were some old ivory-looking coat buttons & orange ribbon for boot ties. She is 'filled' with a piece of pvc pipe, and a quart-size baggie of sand (double bagged) so she can stand. We also put a piece of pink insulation board into the pipe after the sand was in to give her a good base. A fun project. Witch Hazel now lives in Las Vegas.

'Sweet Caroline' pattern for Caroline & Carter

I made mom a quilt for while she was expecting Carter. Caroline (the older sister) got one with bugs and quilting is her name, apples, flip-flops -- stuff a 3yr old could recognize. Carter's quilt has dogs, kitties and animals on it. The quilting is the outline of mom, dad & big sister's hands. Mom's, Caroline's & Carter's quilt all have some materials in common, along with the same backing.
