I really couldn't afford to buy fabric in the dimensions needed - but I threw caution to the wind, bought something just being put out in the fabric store I adored, came home and turned off the AC for three weeks to pay for my purchase. That's my mode of operation - I'm a lizard, have old fashioned high ceilings, huge windows and ceiling fans.

I'm so glad I showed this to my mom. I learned to sew from her mom, but she herself has never had the interest. She loves this quilt and wants it in her house!

I have so many scraps in so many colors. This contains clothing my son out grew, my late husbands shirts, fabric old than I am from my grandmother's stash, and things from many tote bags and previous quilts.

I decided to make this a quilt as you go project because I don't quilt well. The white used for the boarder/backing was a yard sell find!
