The blocks were made by a lady is our congregation who now has alzheimers. Pastor and her husband asked me to make them into quilts. This is the second quilt I have made from the 18 blocks. I also had enough to make 3 pillows. The quilt left for Arizona this morning so I'll be waiting on bated breath for their comments. The blocks are machine pieced with 100% cotton. The quilt is machine pieced and quilted by a long arm quilter.

First Quilt Completed

This is the first quilt completed from the 18 squares made by the alzheimers congregation member at my Arizona church. She had made the blocks before she was diagnosed with alzheimers. Last summer her husband was cleaning out the sewing room and found the blocks. I was requested to make them into quilts. The is the first completed quilt. I have previously posted the top. I hope I have done justice to her blocks. Of the 18 blocks I have identified all but one. My plan is to try to find a history for each block and to create a small booklet in her honor.

RWYS Precious Project Quilt Top #2

This is the second quilt top that our alzheimer quilter started. She made the 18" blocks. I put the quilt together. I will be taking this quilt home to Ohio to quilt on my machine. Once it is completed, the quilt will be returned to my church and will be auctioned. The proceeds from the auction will be used to purchase something for the church in her honor. This is at the request of her husband.
