This is a special quilt for a special friend. I had traced the hand prints of my friend's daughter and granddaughters and finally had to ask her for her hand print. I told her to ask no questions, but she would find out later. This quilt was the result. At the base of each hand print is a heart with their name and birthdate in machine embroidery. On the back, the label is my hand print. The quilt is machine applique and machine quilted. The fabrics reflects some of my friend's hobbies...fossils, collecting geckos, and her favorite colors.

Faith, A cloth doll

The pattern is from Create and Decorate. The doll's name is Faith and she originates from Ashtabula County, Ohio. There is a little poem that goes with her. Each time I make a Faith doll, I put a copy of the poem in the pocket of her apron. Usually if I have enough leftovers from a quilt that I give to a female friend or my granddaughters, on their next birthday or the next Christmas, they will receive a Faith doll. Most of us live in NE Ohio, which is where Ashtabula County is located. So these dolls have a special meaning, plus they match the quilts.

Scrappy Oopsie Daisy

This is an excellent pattern for using up scraps. I hand quilted this quilt. If I ever make it again, I will machine quilt. My fingers are still healing! I must say, however, I love the quilt!

Ohio Star Wall Hanging

Another Fons and Porter pattern called Ohio Star. This one I made for my best friend while I stayed at her home for a summer before moving back from Arizona. We matched the fabrics to the furniture in her family room. It is machine pieced, but I hand quilted. That summer I got my friend hooked on quilting. I created a monster!!!
