This scrappy mug rug can also be used as a candle mat. It is paper pieced. I was using machine embroidery stitches to embellish the fan design and forgot to stop! This is for my Secret Sister. Shhh! Don't tell her, okay? It's a secret.

Mom's Fall Table Topper

I just finished this little table topper for my Mom's Christmas gift. Her kitchen is in fall colors. I made the center squares using four 5" paper piecing strip squares per square which created roughly an 8" square. Then I sashed and bordered four 8" squares with 1-1/2" black. Finally I added a 2" border. It is hand quilted with the design drawn free hand. The binding is pieced from scrap strips.

I just had to show you the corner block. It doesn't show well in the photo of the whole quilt and I think it's so cute!

9 Lives of the Whyte Kat

A Fons and Porter pattern called "Feline Frenzy". I named my version "9 Lives of the Whyte Kat" since the quilt was given to a friend who has a white cat. She is always telling of his adventures and I think he's used up his 9 lives! This is a paper pieced pattern, but goes quickly. I machine stitched the whiskers and machine appliqued the nose, eyes, and words. Actually the words were not part of the pattern. The quilt is machine quilted. It is also made completely from scraps except for the backing.
