It is simillar to baby sister Cora's quilt "Trellis Garden". I used some of the same fabrics and the same butterflies and flowers. That is where the resemblance stops. I made snowball blocks. The blocks that did not have machine appliqued butterflies or flowers in I quilted outlines of butterflies and flowers. The label has a photo of Hanna laying in the grass taken last summer.

Starring Pumpkin Table Runner

I spent some time on Thanksgiving Day just working on some of my own projects. It is for my 7th grandchild, Cora who was born September 12, 2011. The pattern comes from the September/October 2011 McCall's Quilting issue and is called "I Believe in Pink". It is a scrappy quilt using snowball and star blocks. The butterfly flight paths and antennae are hand embroidered. The butterflies and flowers are machine applique on my version. My machine applique is also part of the quilting process. The rest of the quilting is stitch in the ditch to follow the trellis which I extended out into the borders.

Sheila's Girls

This is a special quilt for a special friend. I had traced the hand prints of my friend's daughter and granddaughters and finally had to ask her for her hand print. I told her to ask no questions, but she would find out later. This quilt was the result. At the base of each hand print is a heart with their name and birthdate in machine embroidery. On the back, the label is my hand print. The quilt is machine applique and machine quilted. The fabrics reflects some of my friend's hobbies...fossils, collecting geckos, and her favorite colors.

OSU Buckeyes

My son wanted an OSU Buckeyes quilt for his 3rd son, so I created this quilt. Pattern came from Quilter's World (Oct. 2003), but it was a Halloween wall hanging. I thought it was so cute. So I added some borders, didn't use Halloween fabrics, and put Quinn's birth announcement in the moon. It was a lot of cutting and machine applique, but that is my thing. It is machine quilted with stars. My daughter-in-law loved it!

Scrappy Oopsie Daisy

This is an excellent pattern for using up scraps. I have had the honor of being asked to make the quilt/banner to represent our local group. At the end of the convention the quilts are given to the local pregnancy crisis center. This quilt has machine applique, machine quilting that echos the wording in the center. Two of the fabrics have musical instruments and bugs playing musical instruments. The design is my own. God has been merciful and given me grace since my car accident 4 years ago, so I consider this a very special honor to have been asked to make this quilt.

Mila's Starz

Another stars quilts...this time for my grand-daughter Mila. I machine stitched the whiskers and machine appliqued the nose, eyes, and words. Actually the words were not part of the pattern. The quilt is machine quilted. It is also made completely from scraps except for the backing.
