It didn't matter that his children had quilts. So I made him this almost all wool quilt in the same pattern as his brother's quilt. This was not easy to make...I'm allergic to wool. But didn't it turn out beautiful?? It was worth all the itching and Benedryl. Because of the colors I had to take the top into the store to match backing fabric. The clerks all stopped what they were doing to help me when they saw me walk in with it. Lucky it was a slow day! Even the store manager got into the act!! We ended up picking out a solid because we just couldn't settle on a print that even came close to coordinating with the front colors. I didn't think a teal and maroon would be so hard to match!! We couldn't even find a black that we liked. All of the wools were in my stash. Because I was having a hard time finding wool fabrics to complete the quilt, I substituted thin wale cordoroy and microfiber fabrics. The quilt is machine pieced and machine quilted on the diagonal and in the ditch.
