Ohio Star Lap Quilt

This Ohio Star quilt is quilted with an Ohio Star motif. The printed fabric is of old airplanes; and one of the airplanes is one that my uncle (pictured) flew as a pilot in the US Air Force. He was so excited to receive this quilt.

Beatlemania

Another Fons and Porter...Are you seeing a pattern here? My daughter-in-law loves the Beatles, so I knew I just had to make this one for her. I did my own color scheme. After all patterns are only suggestions, right?! It took a while, but I finally found the center panel on line. The quilt is hand quilted.

Mila's Fishes and Loaves

This pattern is known as Fishes and Loaves (also as 2-1/2 x 4-1/2). It a great pattern for using up scraps. It's one of my favorites for charity quilts. For this particular quilt I had four fabrics and just couldn't think of of another quilt pattern to use. Besides I needed to make it quick. And there are so many ways you can lay out the blocks. Mila is one of my youngest grand-daughters and is a little cutie.

I saw this quilt being made on Fons and Porter and I just couldn't wait for my magazine to arrive to make it!! It is a paper pieced quilt and is a bit time consuming, but what fun! You cut 2 blocks at the same time and is rotary cutting. You do have to concentrate to keep everything in order. But I loved making this quilt.

This quilt went to my oldest grandson, Christopher. The fabrics I chose are definately bright! The quilt is machine quilted with stars.
