I was making these for 3 good friends and I thought they wouldn't want these on their walls...I wouldn't want them on my walls. But they would make adorable pillows so that's exactly what I did and they loved them! At Hobby Lobby I found pillow forms that were just 2" too long, but I was able to stuff it down in there and it filled out the pillow cover nicely. Unfortunately, I was only able to get a photo of two of the pillows. The pillows are made from 100% cotton, machine applique, and machine pieced. The open end is closed with buttons so they can take the cover off and wash if necessry.

April Showers

Here is the April selection for the mini quilt BOM that I belong to. I really had fun making this one because the fabrics in my stash were just perfect! I also love making these mini quilts because I love to do machine applique, use scraps, and I'm going to have a super Christmas gift for someone at Christmas time!

Unfinished Quilt for Hanna

Here is the quilt top for granddaughter Hanna's birthday next month. The longarm quilter called and said she wouldn't be able to get it done before I left to go back home. The plan was to quilt it with a butterfly pattern. Since I won't have time to take it to another longarm quilter when I get home, I will probably quilt it myself. My thoughts are to put butterflies and flowers in the plain blocks where there are no appliques. Next question is...hand or machine quilt? Do I have enough time to hand quilt? I have to think about that.

Also I usually name all my quilts, but nothing has come to me for this one. Hanna loved the quilt I made Cora. This quilt has some of the same fabrics and it has the same appliques. I used the snowball block from Cora's quilt. But this quilt does not look like Cora's quilt...You can see it in My Gallery. It's called "Trellis Garden". The only thing that comes to mind is The Flight of the Butterflies. Thoughts anyone?

The quilt is made from 100% cottons, machine pieced, machine appliqued.

Scrappy Oopsie Daisy

This is an excellent pattern for using up scraps. I hand quilted this quilt. If I ever make it again, I will machine quilt. My fingers are still healing!
