When he saw the wall hanging he asked if it was for him. I said I'd make him one when he starts saying the 23rd Psalm before giving communion. He really must have wanted have wanted the banner because when he'd come to give me communion, he will now say the 23rd Psalm. Sometimes I'm able to go to Bible class when it doesn't conflict with one of my doctor appointments. Pastor Garred took me to his office to show me that it had been repainted and pointed to a spot on the wall and said that is where his Psalm 23 wall hanging is going.

I took an old computerized calender photo of Shelby from when she was just 18 months old and made that the center. The rest are just preprinted borders, but I thought it tured out really cute. Hey it was just my second quilt. I put a lot of time in hand quilting it.

Floral Wall Hanging

This floral wall hanging is for my secret sister.
The pillows are muslin and 100% cotton floral prints. The original quilter had the 18" squares hand quilted except for the borders, which I completed. I think she might have been starting a quilt as you go quilt, but I'm not sure. I do not know the names of the patterns of the squares. (I have 16 squares total, each with a different pattern.) Barb (our parish nurse) and I thought it would be nice to return the pillows to the original quilter who now has alzheimers. We thought it might be something she could hold onto and hug. This woman was very active in our church and always had a smile for everyone. A lot of love went into the pillows for this special lady. And I got them done just in time for Christmas.

I begin Part 2 - a wall hanging.

OSU Buckeyes Quilt

My grandson Christopher loves the OSU Buckeyes! So for his birthday in 2010 I made him the quilt of his dreams. My favorite saying is "patterns are only suggestions" and this quilt is the result of a pattern I liked but I changed because the OSU logo was too big so the whole pattern had to be changed. The result looks similar to the original pattern. The OSU logo came from a purchased sheet set. The rest of the fabric is 100% cotton solids. Since the quilt is twin size, I had an Amish woman hand quilt it for me. She chose footballs and baseballs for the motif. It turned out adorable. Christopher was ecstatic when he received his OSU Buckeyes quilt on his birthday!

Fall Sunflowers

This wall quilt hangs in my dining room. It is all hand applique and hand quilted. The quilting echoes the applique work in the center. It is my first attempt at this type of quilting. If I find the time, I'd love to make another Celtic quilt or wall hanging. It is very time consuming however. It is also one of the first quilts I've done for myself. I mostly quilt for children's charities or my grandchildren.
