Fishes and Loaves

Also known as 2-1/2 x 4-1/2. I just cut and cut and cut. I guess that's why it's called Fishes and Loaves. You never run out of pieces, no matter how hard you try! You can lay the blocks out in so many different ways and no 2 quilts look the same. You can make the quilts any size you want. Good use of scraps. I've machine quilted and I've tied. Children and grown-ups alike love these quilts. They look at all the different fabrics and always can pick out something that reminds them of something else. It's cool to see their eyes light up.

Lil' Cowboys

Here is another quilt I had the priviledge to make for our Women in Missions convention. It was also donated to the local pregnancy crisis center at the end of the convention. It is machine quilted. The blocks are 9 patch and snowball.

Noel's Spiderman

Fun Quilts for Kids (Summer 2007) pattern that was featured in the magazine with pirate fabric. However, grandson Noel likes Spiderman. It has a lot of rotary cut pieces that are chain pieced. The quilt is machine quilted. And Noel loves his quilt!

Mila's Fishes and Loaves

This pattern is known as Fishes and Loaves (also as 2-1/2 x 4-1/2). It a great pattern for using up scraps. It's one of my favorites for charity quilts. For this particular quilt I had four fabrics and just couldn't think of of another quilt pattern to use. Besides I needed to make it quick. And there are so many ways you can lay out the blocks. Mila is one of my youngest grand-daughters and is a little cutie.

Fall Sunflowers

This wall quilt hangs in my dining room. It is made from a jelly roll. The sunflowers are made from muslin and are just machine stitched on. The leaves are a leaf print also machine stitched on. The quilt is machine quilted with the exception of the outer border, which is hand quilted using a leaf vine stencil stitched in red.

Cobblestones

The pattern is called Cobblestones and is very easy to make. It is all rotary cutting and chain piecing. If you need a quilt fast, this is the pattern to use. I quilted this on the machine using stitch in the ditch method and it was done in no time.

Chuga Chuga Choo Choo

This was Joshua's Christmas gift. He loves Thomas and goes around saying "Chuga Chuga Choo Choo". All pieces are rotary cut and chain pieced. The quilt is machine quilted.
