This is my own design of the Wisteria growing in my garden in Spring. It's turning into a series of quilts, but I love designing with flowers. I made this into a pattern and its on the Craftsy site.

This quilt is inspired by my husband's garden. I love the way the roses take over and even try escaping over the back fence. It's hand appliqued and machine free-motion quilted.100% cotton fabrics and batting. Various colours of stranded thread for the applique and various polyester thread for the quilting.

Wisteria

I collected all the fabrics in this quilt's background while travelling through the east coast of USA not knowing that they would become a brick wall. I made the brick wall thinking to put graffiti on it, something wild and urban, but I saw my wisteria flowering on my verandah and wisteria wall it became. Sometimes i think quilts make themselves! All the fabrics are 100% cotton, raw edged appliqued on my machine (for the first time!), various threads and the wadding is a thin iron on type I wanted to try.

This quilt is from the book Quilts to make for children by Margaret Rolfe. A friend at work asked me for a quilt for a family member who was expecting a girl soon. This quilt came to mind and she loved it. Consequently Amelia's Teddies now have a new home.

My daughter organises a cupcake day each year for Telethon, our local children's hospital fundraiser. Volunteer bakers donate their cupcakes and time and all proceeds of their sale goes to Telethon. I can't bake so I am making these sets for her. They are from a web bonus pattern in Quilt magazine Oct/Nov 2012.

I chose the brown and cream spotted fabric first thinking of making something with an irish chain design, then i was given some modern prints and the quilt turned into this. I quilted some feathers around each square.

This is another colourway for the hidden stars pattern. The yellow and the grey work well together and the stars really shine. I tried an all over design of leaves and flowers hoping to get the pattern within the stars as well. I'll have to work on that!

I thought the beautiful border print needed a different sort of quilt so I tried the slash and put together technique, a little like writing music! It's 100% cotton fabric and batting and quilted on my home machine with an all over design of a treble clef.

This was a first try at piecing a quilt as well as applique. It's from the book Bloom Creek Quilts. I was living in far north Newfoundland and Labrador and the winter was very cold and snowy and being inside sewing was the best thing. All the material was sent in by post which kind of hooked me on internet shopping!
