Second June Scrappy Lap Quilt Back

Finished the second lap quilt made for Nana's June 2012 Scrappy Quilt Project. Instead of paper-pieced hearts, I inserted three wonky stars into the top. For the borders I used some of the same fabrics that were in the top. The binding was also pieced together from left-over scraps. Used a fabric with old pickup trucks on the back, and bordered it using the colors from the trucks. Quilted with a simple diagonal straight-line pattern. Finished at 52 inches square. Will be donated, along with the other scrapply lap quilt made in June, to the Alzheimer's Research Project.

The back of my 1st Dragon Eyes lap quilt. Back is batik with little green lizards (dragons?) on it. Back was pieced with row of left-over blocks to make it wide enough for lap quilt. Used facing binding with two rows of machine stitching to add to durabiltiy.

This is the first Dragon Eyes pattern I made. The blocks are 5" square, overall quilt size is 42.5 X 42.4 inches.

Baby Dragon Eyes

This is a second lap top quilt made from extra blocks left over from making Dragon Eyes. The colors are lighter and brighter than many of the colors used in Dragon Eyes, so I've named this one Baby Dragon Eyes. The top finished at 48 X 38 inches. This will also be a donation quilt.

Dragon Eyes Lap Quilt

This is a lap quilt I named Dragon Eyes. Finished top size (without binding) is 42 X 42. First time I've used cornerstones in a border. Kind of like the effect and will probably use it again. This will be a donation quilt tagged for a male alzheimers patient. Planning on using a black/red swirling pattern called Fingerpaints for the backing.
