BWR Log Cabin lap quilt

Found the backing fabric for this quilt a couple of years ago and have been trying to decide on what pattern I wanted to use for the top ever since. The backing has wonderful large dragons in black, greys, and reds. It is an Alexander Henry print. Recently saw a log cabin pattern done using Jelly Rolls and decided that was what I wanted to do with this lap quilt. Nice and masculine in colors, pattern, and style. This lap quilt will be donated to the Alzheimer's Disease Cooperative Study for one of their research participants. Finished size after washing is 50 inches square.

Spin Cycle

FInally got Spin Cycle quilted and bound! Tried quilting in a spiral for the first time. Learned a lot and will use spiral quilting again. Also tried gluing the binding to keep in in place while machine stitching it. Very happy with the result, and the glue washed right out. Finished size after washing: 43 X 49 inches. The sixteen 5 inch square blocks were improvisational pieced using scraps of solid colors. Additional scraps were used for the border. This lap quilt will be donated to the Alzheimer's Diease Cooperative Study, UCLA-San Diego.

Lap quilt, 50 inches square. Made for donation to Alzheimer's Research Group UCLA-San Diego, for their special Vietnam Veteran project. Wonky eight-point stars mixed with wonky four-point stars. Just had to use the backing fabric with old military planes from all the services branches for this quilt.

Scrambled Eggs Lap Quilt

Scrambled Eggs started out being named Easter Eggs....but an 'oops!' occurred and the name changed. Lap quilt finished at 49 X 57 inches. Used irregularly spaced wavey lines to quilt.

July Scrappy Lap Quilt

Finished quilt 49 X 49 inches. Inspired by Nana's July 2012 Scrappy Quilt Project. I was so happy with the looks at the end of the first step I quit and sewed the blocks together. Used a diamond pattern to quilt, using purple variated thread.

Second June Scrappy Lap Quilt Back

Finished the second lap quilt made for Nana's June 2012 Scrappy Quilt Project. Instead of paper-pieced hearts, I inserted three wonky stars into the top. For the borders I used some of the same fabrics that were in the top. The binding was also pieced together from left-over scraps. Used a fabric with old pickup trucks on the back, and bordered it using the colors from the trucks. Quilted with a simple diagonal straight-line pattern. Finished at 52 inches square. Will be donated, along with the other scrapply lap quilt made in June, to the Alzheimer's Research Project.

Find the Tiger lap quilt, has just a few tiger-stripe patches in it. Finished at 42 X 42 inches. Batik fabrics used front and back. This was a stack-n-whack that had a few issues, so some patches were switched out for other fabric from a different quilt that was being cut out at the same time.
