Free Motion Quilting Class Promotion quilt

I am teaching my very first free motion quilt class at my local quilt shop in two weeks. I made this piece to help promote the class! May also use this for an advanced class in the near future. I'm very excited! Wish me luck!

Zentangle Wedding Quilt - FINISHED!

Finally, here's a pic of the finished zentangle wedding quilt for my niece and her husband! They were married on August 18th. I'm really happy with how it turned out. They haven't received it yet, but they will get it this weekend. It was a gorgeous wedding and they are such a sweet and beautiful couple. I hope they will like the quilt!

Since both my niece and her husband-to-be play guitar and other instruments, I decided a guitar quilt block was in order. They are handing out guitar picks as wedding favors. I decided to make this block the center of the quilt!

This was a drawing that my father, Donald Thibodeau, had done while attending Metropolitan Art School and was displayed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This drawing is dated Feb. 12, 1948! My sister Lisa has the original and suggested that I copy it and quilt it for this quilt. I went to work on it and I'm not real happy with it, but it is what it is! This quilt is truly a family affair! My father died on Jan. 7th, 1967 at the age of 45. I was 4 years old.

This was designed by my sister Judy (mother to the bride-to-be). She took the design from the wedding invitations!

I had several of my artistic sisters (one is the mother of the bride) design a block for the wedding quilt. They came up with their own designs and I quilted them. I thought it would add a little more of a family flare to the quilt as it is being journaled as its done. This block was designed by my sister Deborah!

These are two bags I made. The one on top was a confetti style project which was stitched down with batting. I can't wait to start the next one!

Quilted ink project

This project was traced onto a piece of cotton muslin and then quilted. I then used a permanent indigo pigment ink pen and colored in the quilted areas.
