Tossed 9 Patch...and Buddy

Completed this Tossed 9 patch (Eleanor Burns) that I started in Sept 2010. The fabrics are from the Fancy Hill Farms line by Robin Pandolph, which I fell in love with as soon as I saw them. It finished at 64x84, which will be a good snuggle-on-the-sofa quilt for the daughter...and the hubby. That is if Buddy will stay off of it long enough to get it quilted!

Pineapple Blossom

It's finally finished! This is Bonnie Hunter's Pineapple Blossom pattern, though I changed the layout a little so that the blocks made more of a star than a continuous chain throughout the top. It's 80x96 and was made for a life long friend of my hubby's. I started this one just a little over a year ago, just in time for their anniversary.

Look what I found! I'd forgotten I even had this - moving sure "misplaces" things. I made this about a year ago for a quilt show at work, they needed a few little ones to display. It's 18" square. No pattern, just threw it together. It now has a home in my dining room.

Old Kentucky Album

I was really inspired by the Old Kentucky Album pattern from Bonnie Hunter in the January/February 2010 edition of Quiltmaker's magazine. From the ol' 2" strip bin, I pulled out a variety of strips in black, green, blue and mauve. But none of these had a lot of "zing" to them and thought a variety of reds would put some spice to the blocks and lend some consistency to the overall look. Also for consistency, I chose one background of white/tan checks to help tie it all together. Although I only made 20 blocks, it was still amazing how fast and easy the blocks were. I'll definitely be making more of these Old Kentucky Album quilts, especially when I need a quilt in a hurry!
