This time I made the pattern with oriental fabric. In hindsight this was not such a good idea as I had to be very careful to get the many directional fabrics all pointed the same way. I also discovered that you should not place five relative dark fabrics adjacent to one another in the strip set. It looses the dimensional movement of the pattern. I really learned a lot this third time around.

Grotto Bargello

This is the same Spiral Burst Bargello pattern (designed by Becky Botello) that I used to make the Pillar of Fire Bargello quilt. I made it with cool colors this time. I call it Grotto Bargello. I love this pattern so much that I have already picked out 24 Oriental fabrics to do it again. I rarely do the same pattern twice, and this will be the first time I have done the same pattern three times.
