I made it with cool colors this time. I call it Grotto Bargello. I love this pattern so much that I have already picked out 24 Oriental fabrics to do it again. I rarely do the same pattern twice, and this will be the first time I have done the same pattern three times.

Aurora Borealis Bargello

This is my version of the Aurora Borealis pattern from the book Twist and Turn Bargello. I scaled the pattern up to use 2" strips instead of the 1.5" strips specified in the book. The quilt finishes at 61" x 88". This is the fourth bargello I have completed, and the most challenging one yet. It was as much a color study as it was a bargello. I quilted it myself on my domestic sewing machine with a walking foot.

This is a repost from the Bargello group so I can add it to My Gallery.
