There were days when it would progress very nicely and then all of a sudden my inspiration was gone. A week or so later, it'd "talk" to me again and I'd go back to stitching, never really knowing where the project was going. The fan coral presented the biggest challenge. It is 3 layers of net (Green, purple and red) layered with angelina fibers and fused. I put blue 'fingers' of tulle behind it, but the effect is so subtle you can hardly see them. *Shug* Live and learn...

Lurin' 'em in

This is just a funky odd block I made. Originally the fairy was nude, but her father had a fit so I had to fashion her a dress. The moon started out the same color as her skin, but the night sky bled something terrible when I painted the moon-glow on it. I liked the effect, so I left it.

Byron's Life

My brother comishioned me to make this for our Uncle who was suffering from Parkenson's desease. He had been a Heuy pilot during hte Vietnam war. His great pleasure in life was fly fishing, so I combined his interests into this lap quilt. I mailed it to my aunt, only to learn that he died 2 days after recieving it. I regret that I didn't sew faster.I don't know if he ever even saw it... but his family displayed it on the pulpit during his funeral and my cousins all swear that when they think of their father, the image I made is what they feel. I guess I didn't fail completely if it brings them comfort.

Edit: I had originally typed "He died 2 days before his death".... now how anyone could manage that is beyond me! That's what I get for trying to write while the kids are jabbering at me.
