There were days when it would progress very nicely and then all of a sudden my inspiration was gone. A week or so later, it'd "talk" to me again and I'd go back to stitching, never really knowing where the project was going. The fan coral presented the biggest challenge. It is 3 layers of net (Green, purple and red) layered with angelina fibers and fused. I put blue 'fingers' of tulle behind it, but the effect is so subtle you can hardly see them. *Shug* Live and learn...

Baby's Daisies

This is my latest project. I learned on the 3rd that I'm gonna be an almost aunty in just a few weeks (Communication is optional in this family...). I dug through my stash and found some sweet daisy-print flannel, along with a nice pink mottle print and a soft yellow to match. My 10 degree wedge ruler sure came in handy for making the medalians! The quilt is all flannel,(both front and back) so it's ultra snuggly, altho perhaps a bit heavy. I spray basted the pieces in place and quilted it at the same time I appliqued them down in order to save time. If I had it to do over again, I think I'd add a 2" border of the daisy print, but this will have to due, since I didn't have much time to plan it.

Fantasy in a fansaty

I Used me DD for the model for this. Originally the fairy was nude, but her father had a fit so I had to fashion her a dress. The moon started out the same color as her skin, but the night sky bled something terrible when I painted the moon-glow on it. I liked the effect, so I left it.

Fabri-gami Clock

Justa fun little folded fabric block that I turned into a clock for our livingroom. It makes a quick afternoon project.

Glue-resist art quilt

Ok, Here it is, in all of it's finished glory! This is the quilt I've been working on in the class I'm teaching at the art studio. The Glue-resist technique results in a rather batik-y look. You might need to copy it and zoom to see the details (I'm so much better with thread then a camera!). I painted over it with some irridesent shimmers. The inner (red) border is scalloped and embellished with seed beads (love the texture that added). It's stitched with metalics and has blingy-thingies glued on here and there to help balance the sparkle factor.

Rainbow Prairie

A fun experiment with two color Prairie Points.

Byron's Life

My brother comishioned me to make this for our Uncle who was suffering from Parkenson's desease. He had been a Heuy pilot during hte Vietnam war. His great pleasure in life was fly fishing, so I combined his interests into this lap quilt. I mailed it to my aunt, only to learn that he died 2 days after recieving it. I regret that I didn't sew faster.I don't know if he ever even saw it... but his family displayed it on the pulpit during his funeral and my cousins all swear that when they think of their father, the image I made is what they feel. I guess I didn't fail completely if it brings them comfort.

Edit: I had originally typed "He died 2 days before his death".... now how anyone could manage that is beyond me! I made this 5 years ago for my brother's wedding. His bride loves fall colors... It was a challenge to make since they are out of my comfort zone. It was one of my first attempts at free motion quilting. The fans are all hand pieced and hand appliqued. Their cat loved it!

Dragon Star

I did this Lonestar (sometimes called Morning Star) for my DS1 a couple of years ago. He picked out a funky dragon print and asked me to make him a "Firey" quilt. I'd just finished making his sister's Lonestar, so I made his with the same pattern. I added flame appliques and a stary sky print on the inner border.
