I learned on the 3rd that I'm gonna be an almost aunty in just a few weeks (Communication is optional in this family...). I dug through my stash and found some sweet daisy-print flannel, along with a nice pink mottle print and a soft yellow to match. My 10 degree wedge ruler sure came in handy for making the medalians! The quilt is all flannel,(both front and back) so it's ultra snuggly, altho perhaps a bit heavy. I spray basted the pieces in place and quilted it at the same time I appliqued them down in order to save time. If I had it to do over again, I think I'd add a 2" border of the daisy print, but this will have to due, since I didn't have much time to plan it.

LoneStar Shining

I made this for DD a few years back. She'd found the metalic print at a quilt show and had to have it. It took me a while to put it to use, and while it was a wonderful springboard for color options in this quilt, I hated to use it for the background. I backed it with bright pink flannel. DD loves it and takes it along to her sleep overs, road trips and outdoor games.

Rosebuds

I really honestly believed that Jr was going to be a girl. Originally the fairy was nude, but her father had a fit so I had to fashion her a dress. The moon started out the same color as her skin, but the night sky bled something terrible when I painted the moon-glow on it. I liked the effect, so I left it.

Horsin' Around

This is all Horse prints with a fun red 'barbed wire' print for the sashing. The kids ended up having to share a bedroom, so I commisioned a friend to make them bunkbeds. He's notoriously slow about finishing jobs, so to speed him up and make it fun, I bet him that I could finish two, custome designed, quilts to go on it before he could make the beds. I won...with 3 days to spare. He picked out a funky dragon print and asked me to make him a "Firey" quilt. I'd just finished making his sister's Lonestar, so I made his with the same pattern. I added flame appliques and a stary sky print on the inner border. It's backed with bright green flannel.
