February Pittsburgh mini quilt

This is another Patrick Lose pattern, from his Blocks for All Seasons line. His was done in reds and pinks, but I couldn't resist doing a Pittsburgh twist on the colors. It is approx. 12x12".

Sheep wallhanging

While on a shop hop this year, I purchased a kit to make this small sheep quilt. It is about 11"x18". The sheep are appliqued and I used all the fabrics in the kit except for the turquoise cornerstones, which came from my stash. The fabric given for those was almost exactly the same as the fabric for the rectangles that they are sewn to, and didn't provide enough contrast. I machine quilted it with X's on the squares and rectangles, a small stipple around the sheep, and a loopy meander on the borders. I also did SID around the borders and the sheep areas.

Artist Cat Pillow

This is a design by Amy Bradley (pattern title, "Mona"). I made the small quilt into a 12"x16" pillow for my artist friend, who loves cats. The fused appliqued pieces were blanket stitched and the design details were done with a satin stitch.

Patriotic Tablerunner

With all the snow we've had, I needed to make something to remind me of summer, so I made this Patriotic Tablerunner. It is a Patrick Lose design and I think it measures about 43"x14". It is machine appliqued, stars are fused and blanket stitched, and it was quilted on my Tin Lizzie longarm. The quilting is a freehand stars and loops pattern.

Stockings

Things That Go quilt

I began this quilt back in 2005 for a little boy named Joshua, but never got around to finishing it. I pulled it out a few days ago and started cutting the plain blocks and piecing the quilt. Today I quilted it on the longarm and added the binding. It will now be for a little boy named Isaac, as Joshua is probably too old for it now. :-D

The vehicle blocks are all appliqued and the words are embroidered. I quilted it using a pantograph with vehicles on it. The backing is a combination of fleece and cotton, as the fleece wasn't wide enough to cover the back.

Patti's Walk for Life Banner

Our church women's group made this banner to carry in a Walk for Life fundraiser in October 2006. The center section (the baby) is a Patrick Lose pattern. The pregnant woman and the toddler were original designs. The woman has real beads for her necklace and her bracelet and the toddler's hair is 3-D.
