I get distracted way to easily by new projects, I'm really trying to finish more of the ones I've already started. NO NEW PROJECTS for me in May, I've started to many new ones already this year. Now i need to pick a UFO (or 2) for this month and get busy! Hopefully photo's coming shortly.

Re: Post your April UFOs here.

Star, that is pretty. I have the flannel with a plastic backing. Was thinking to make a pocket in the top and add a thin curtain rod that I can roll it up on? Still envisioning it. Husband is going to put some type of holder on the wall near ceiling so I can hang it but roll when going to retreats. I saw one that just hangs over a door with over the door hooks, like those that hold a wreath.

Re: Post your April UFOs here.

Like Judy said, plain flannel works great. I just bought six yards, cut in half and sewed together, ironed the seam, nailed to the wall. Wish I would have known about the cork board. I see a revision coming once this quilt is off. Also, it's in my bedroom. I only had to move one small bookcase and wall hanging. I have a one level house, so not too bad.

Re: Post your April UFOs here.
Michelle. I simply put corkboard on the wall and a Fons and Porter flannel design wall over it. Plain flannel will do just as well, or a flannel backed table cloth, I just happened to get the F&P with a 50% off coupon. With the soft cork backing, I can easily pin things to the design wall when needed. I found a large roll of cork at a thrift store and used double stick mounting tape. I put hooks at the top to attach the flannel to.

I am thinking of making a tri-fold wall that I can put up as needed as I need a second design wall but no more wall space.

That is so creative.

I did not get as far as I wanted on my April UFO, too many distractions. I did get a new design wall made and my blocks sorted and in place. I'm still working on the sashing and starts. So, for May my goal is sashing and stars. It wouldn't be so tough if this was not such a scrappy quilt. No two of the same fabrics are supposed to touching. Which is a lot of planning for me. And it's spring with all the yard work, and I'm still in physical therapy through May, and I do have a date here and there. Lots of excuses..... Oh, I forgot the other ten projects I am working on too. Lol...

I've been a slug again this month....too many gardens to revive and weed. What I love about UFO's is they are patient....waiting their turn.....hoping to make it to the top of the pile.
Here's my UFO for April, birthday blocks From Feb 2012. I need to make 2 blocks for a 4X5 layout. These blocks are not all 12 1/2", they are between 12 and 13", so hopefully adding a border to each block will help even them out without it being too noticeable.
