Marie: I quit when we got to the flying geese, just couldn't get one to work out for me. What was your way of solving that problem or isn't there a good solution?

Marie, I didn't come up with any good solution for them. They gave me all kinds of problems. I ended up having to trim down some of the other blocks to get them to fit with the flying geese. It worked out okay in the end, but all the fudging to match everything up had a lot to do with why it took over 3 years to finish this one. I kept getting frustrated and shoving everything in a drawer.
It's done. I used the trimmed backing fabric to make my binding which I had sewed at work last night and learned that I still don't like sewing binding by hand.
On the back; some from my stash and one sale fabric purchased two weekends ago.
Beautiful Kris -- Well Done!

I wanted to complete at least one UFO, so I switched to a different one that did not need a lot of work on it. Here is the before and after. I just had to add the borders to complete the top. It's 84x84. I started this 3-4 years ago when my nephew was having a hard time. He is doing very well now. He liked wolves then, I hope he still does.

Patti: on Jan 14 I incorrectly posted my before picture in the UFO Media section. This is a picture of the work done since Jan 14 2013. Before quilting it measures 49 1@" by 66 1/2". My goal for January was to complete the top but I have also been able to get more than half of the quilting done as well.
I have 6, possibly 7 for the raffle so far. The 6 are Angele, Snowbird, Kris, Sabrina, Pat, NinaK. Debbie, if you started that sun bonnet Sue a year or more ago, it counts.
I'll wait until tomorrow evening to do the drawing. Just in case there are some stragglers that haven't posted yet.
We have some very nice things people have sent.
Congrats to everyone who finished a UFO this month!!
congratulations to all of you who finished your UFO's. Beautiful quilts!
I didn't quite get mine done, I got all the blocks made so I'm happy about that, but just ran out of time to sew them together. So I'll continue working on this for February.
Jacy, this is so beautiful!
NinaK -- Love your Chicks & Pinwheels. So Cute.
Patti -- Your wolf quilt had me saying WOW. The green boxes around the center panel sure set it off. Love your design.
Jacy -- This quilt of yours is just eye popping. Love it. And I know you will finish this month (February)!
And the winner of the raffle is. . . . ..Angele!
Congratulations!
Please private message me your address.
