Block 138: Mariner's Compass, p. 48
Please post pictures, and suggestions, ideas, frustrations, and oohs and ahhs…
My first ever Mariner's Compass....I was so nervous about doing this one that I thru the label back into my box four times in 3 days. When I pulled it out again this morning I decided someone was trying to tell me it was time to do this block. I am pleased to say that I love it and am no longer scared of the Mariner's Compass. If I can do this little one with all the itty bitty points I think a big one would be a piece of cake....LOL>
I love it. Your fabric choices are fantastic. Gorgeous block. Very nice work.
This is one that I've been hoping to pick but so far it's hiding in the bag.
That's funny. Everytime I pulled it I put it back.....I always thought that the Mariner's Compass was way beyond my talents. Glad I finally got the courage to just do it because now it isn't scary anymore.....
It usually works out that way Nana. Lots of these quilt blocks look much harder that they are. I'm glad you finally gave in and made it.
nana, this one takes my breath away. outstanding work

Thanks Gini. Coming from someone whose work is usually so perfect that really means alot to me.
Wow Nana that is stunning. All the blocks are beautiful. now the mq is done I hope to get some of these caught up. I think I will start with this one.
OMG ... what a gorgeous job you did!
Thanks Marilyn and Lee Ann.
Thanks Leslie. I may have the confidence to do a big Mariner's Compass now. It has always been one of my absolute favorite patterns but looked so difficult that I just dreamed of doing one.
grrrrr, it's done. and i am so happy, i ended up paper piecing this by hand. i separated the layers of a paper towel, drew the eight sections out and stitched it.
It turned out beautifully. Love your fabrics.
it was definitely worth waiting for. It's fabulous.
