Thank you Candis. No, it is applique & folded fabrics. I found the pattern in the book: Fabled Flowers by Kumiko Sudo. She has some beautiful patterns in her book. I love hydrangeas so picked this one.

For you other art history buffs...does this remind you of Fauvism?? It was one of my favorite periods (right after impressionism and before modern)..the colors are gorgeous and Sue..your border really shows off the center...brings your eyes back to it.
