Nana it's probably too late to get in today's post, I will send tomorrow. I'm not lucky enough to jump in a car to take to the post office.

OK everyone Sept. 1 is Sunday. Is everyone ready to ship their center squares out on time???? We can't get off to a bad start here at the beginning.

I have 2 border books that helped me tremendously and I also looked through all the other quilt books I have to see what kind of borders were used. Also went to some of my favorite sites like McCalls, BHG, Fave Quilts, Connecting Threads, etc. There is a wealth of resources out there.

I have to get ready for a morning doctor appointment today. Feel free to ask questions and I'll try to answer.

Happy quilty hugs,

Mine is ready to ship, probably tomorrow, but definitely by Friday.  Just need to get my journal together to include with it.

I am hoping to have mine ready to ship but this one caught me unprepared.   Didn't know until yesterday that I needed to have a block.

Beautiful Borders, Bindings & Backings by Jill Reber and Margaret Sinclair....ISBN 978-1-890621-81-0

100 Best Full Size Quilt Blocks & Borders by Phyllis Dobbs, Mimi Shimp, Lucie Sinkler, Retta Warehime....ISBN 1-4127-1044-8

I like the first book the best. It is a paperback and it's beginning to show it's wear and tear from use.. But I do use the other book a lot too, but it doesn't give you measurements. I found I had to measure the blocks in the book and add 1/4' seam allowance. Some of them you could do as paper pieced. The first book has more detail and explainations. I would start with that one.

Hugs.

I have found an orphan block that I am going to use.   Knew that block would be good for something one day.   I will try to get it in the mail by Friday at the latest.

Glad you found a block Nana.

I got my block finished today. I have an idea for the label, hopefully I'll get to that tomorrow. My journal may just be some pages stapled together, I don't seem to be getting any wonderful ideas for it. I'm aiming to get mine mailed Friday too.

Karla

I have everything packaged and ready to mail.  Now if DH remembers to take it to the post office tomorrow it will be on its way to you.   This one probably won't have a tracking number since DH is posting but its not a big deal if this one gets lost.  I can always send another.

There you go, relying on DH to post again. LOL. Watch out gals, DH is sweet but his forte is not package mailing. ROTFL

Orphan blocks have come in handy more than once for me.

Mine is packaged and ready to mail.  I've got to make a run to WalMart for dogfood, so I'll drop it off at the post office on my way.
