TEAM 7
SUSIE - I received your quilt top this afternoon. It's beautiful. All these teeny tiny pieces are impressive! This is going to make a wonderful quilt for your son.
There appears to be some bleeding in the white areas surrounding 2 of the red stars. It was folded up inside of tissue paper when I got it, but I am thinking I'll put the tissue paper on top of it BEFORE folding to try to prevent any future bleeding. Also probably fold it right side out. I'll put it in its own ziplock after folding with the tissue paper like that. Does all that sound OK to you? If so, I'll ask the rest of the girls to do the same.
Otherwise, is there anything you want me to do with it now to try and prevent it from staining in the spots where it's already bled? I have been very lucky in the past (knock on wood) and not had to deal with this this before, so I'm really a novice at dealing with this sort of issue, but I'm perfectly happy to do anything you tell me to if there's something you'd like me to do to it to try and prevent it from staining. Just let me know.
Here are a couple photos so you can see what I'm talking about. It's nothing major - who knows - I may have only noticed it because I was inspecting all your teeny postage stamp work. But I want you to know in case there's anything you want me to do to it now while it's fresh.

Carolyn,
Please do not worry about the bleeding. I meant to put a note in my booklet about it. It did that to me when I did the final pressing. I'm a bit bummed about it, but should be able to take care of it when it comes back home. I've been lucky in the past. Oddly enough, the part that bled was fabric that was pre-washed. The un-pre-washed fabric was fine.
Barbara--I was playing with EQ5 for a bit today. I'm very confused at this point, but will do some more playing before I yell for help.

Barbara -- I received your gorgeous Butterfly center today. I already have an idea for it.
THanks.
Jodie your top has arrived in Alabama. It is truly beautiful can't wait to get off work tomorrow.
Susie and Carolyn--
Was just reading your post about your red dye running. Don't know if either of you have tried Synthrapol before or not, but it works very well. I dye many of my own fabrics, and Synthrapol is an industrial grade soap that removes excess dye and usually anything that bleeds into another fabric as long as you don't press it or throw it in the dryer before washing with it. A little goes a long, long way as well. Hope you'll try it if you haven't used it before--good stuff!
Sue Jones: I should be mailing my block on Monday or Tuesday to Liz - are you ready for it? Melissa - I will be ready for your block. Happy quilting! Sue J
I should be finished with my block tomorrow late, so I probably will not be able to get it into the mail until Monday or Tuesday also.

Hey Susie,
Glad you knew about it. I was worried it had happened during shipping. That's weird that it's the pre-washed fabrics that bled and not the others!
Dyen4fun, it sounds like it's already been pressed, so Idk if the syntrapol would work at this stage, but I'll be sure not to put any more heat on those areas. The only spots I plan to press are the very edges where I'll attach my border.
I already have an idea of what I want to do, but I'm about to load it into EQ7 to see how it will look. Never played with EQ before, so this should be fun. Also a very fun project to start with!!
I am a happy girl this Saturday. :)
