It's raining here in Central Texas. Perfect day to snuggle with kids and work on a binding for my newest quilt. I love having hand work while I'm teaching. The time seems to pass quicker. Micah, age seven made omelets for the whole family this morning. We buy a box of five dozen eggs every two weeks we go through them so quickly. I live out in the country and we've tried having chickens like three times but the critters get to them because our fence isn't complete. I really envy you guys who can keep chickens around.
Brenda:Don't you just love it when things just fall in place and what you saw in your minds eye works? I have Beverly's boarder added and it is on the wall so I can get my picture tonight. Then I just have to write in her book and sign the label and off it goes to Bonita when she is ready.
Brenda, I'm ready whenever you want to send it on. Maybe I'll have time to work on it before I leave for Branson.
Team 7--I'm still struggling trying to get my applique done. I'm about 1/2 done, but it's taking longer than I anticipated. I'm still hoping that I will have it done so I can ship it out on Saturday! But I wanted to pop in and let you know where I'm at.
I'm having so much fun with this RR!

The correct way to put on long border pieces is to fold both the in half and mark that half way point - pin at that point and then go to both ends and pin the ends square - then half each of these sections and pin - and half and pin until you have a pin about every 3" apart - if you do have some fullness this will equal it out all the way across - and one last thing with this - we call it the baggy bottom rule - you put the longer piece on the bottom and ease the top piece to it...
Thea - rereading posts to see who had anniversaries cuz somehow I missed it, just saw the congratulations (I'm a few days behind!). Anyways, I saw this and appreciate you adding it, I knew it but somehow forgot so I need these reminders. Thanks!

Happy Valentines Day everyone. I woke up to a beautiful card from my DH, several sugar-free specialty items and a USB stick in the shape of a spool of thread for my sewing machine. :-D

EAT!! SLEEP !! QUILT!!
Dear Robins 3,
Happy Valentine's Day!
My hubby and I are celebrating our 27th Wedding Anniversary today. He gave me a beautiful Sapphire Heart Necklace that I admired in the summer. What a nice surprise! I sewed him some pillows, one for his lower back to use when sitting in his office chair practicing guitar, so I found some fabric with music notes, and guitars and I have been saving it, I have a enough to make him a lap quilt for Father's Day too, which my two boys are helping to sew. Funny to watch my 23 and 25 year olds try their hand at sewing.

Hi lIz,
I hope you got your electricity and water back on. Take care and Happy Valentine's Day. I finally decided what to do to add to your border. It was a hard decision.
Happy Valentines to everyone, How Funny it is our 10 th Anniversery. So Happy anniversary to those also!
Liz,
By the time you get your quilt top you are working on finished and in the mail I will have sent mine to Pat, so send it when your done. I am almost done, yesterday I had to take my Mom in law to the urgent care because she fell and then to the lab for an x-ray, so I didn't go to work. This left me some afternoon time to begin the sewing on Sue's quilt top. I was trying to use my stash for all the new borders, but I couldn't get just the right fabric to work, so I HAD to go to the fabric store, love shopping for fabric, don't we all? LOL! I found what I think Sue will like camping-wise from her request in her notes, and that is what I was able to find and the the colors go really well with the colors you and she used. I am keeping it simple to show off her center and what you added.
Candis,
From another Candace-it is our 27th Anniversary! That is funny, huh? Happy Valentine's and Happy Anniversary too!
I, for one, am glad that you are giving us gentle reminders, someone times we need it. Have a great day!
WOW! That is fantastic, Linda. I am happy for you both! Happy Anniversary!
Candace sent you a PM.
Maggie,
Did your graphite wash out? I am sorry for that. Last week at my quilt class, I had the perfect fabric for my own quilt I was sewing and when I ironed it, dirty dark rust came out of the iron and unto my light colored fabric. I couldn't get it off and ended up really upset, but, oh well-it's just some fabric I said to my self. My quilt store where I sewed did get a complaint from me, though.
From now on, I will bring my own mini-iron my mom gave me for Christmas to class.
Take care!
