Hi, group 5!

I started my center but didn't like how it was looking, I think I'll start over. My sewing time is a little sparse right now, but in 2 weeks my kids go back to school and I will be able to find more time to sew during the day. I'm looking forward to this RR.

Barbara, I'm a little behind, too.  I picked out a couple of my fabrics, and started designing my center, but so far I'm not satisfied with anything I've come up with.  I'll think of something soon, I hope.

I just found a block pattern that I think I'm going to make for mine. I've been looking through the Quiltmaker's 100 blocks magazines to find an idea, so my center will be a 12" block. Now to find some time to work on it!

That's exactly what I have been doing, Jacy, but I haven't decided on one yet.

Hi Group 5!

I had my center made but it was rejected because it was 24". So it's back to the drawing board. I am doing a QOV for a young man in my church that left for the Army. So I decided to do the Ohio star...actually 4 Ohio stars for the center block with a red border. Then my center will be exactly 20" plus the 1/4" seam allowance. The rejected center will not go to waste. Mark's brother Ryan is also in the Army and originally was suppose to be his drill sargent! But at the last minute the Army decided that might not be a good idea. I will complete the rejected center and give to Ryan.

Barbara, I see I ship to you. I will be ready to ship before Sept. 1. Would you like to have it early?

Linda

My center right now is 12-1/2".  If everyone adds at least a 6" border, it will be a good lap quilt size at about 60" square.   I've got it ready and just need to send it.  So, I think I will have it in the mail on Monday.  I'm at the bottom of the list, so I guess I get to send it to Jacy first.

Hey Kathy are you out there? We really are a good group, this group 5. And we don't really bite...at least not hard!! Just joking. We like to have a lot of fun and joking around. Some of us are ready to send out early. How are you doing with your center? Hugs.

This is my first Round Robin. I have to figure out some kind of label for each person to sign. And what about the journal, Barbara and Linda, I think you've both done this before. What do I write in there? And what kinds of things do people write as they work on their row they are adding.

Yes, I need to know too.  This is my first round robin, too, so it's a learn as you go project.

Well as it just so happens I just finished mine and is ready to mail out on Monday. I'm doing a QOV quilt for a young man in our congregation that just went to boot camp. I gave a very short history of Mark. I asked that each of you sign your border with name, city, state, and date. You can write anything in the booklet but maybe a word or encouragement to Mark might be nice. The booklet is being sent to Mark with the quilt.  I'm not sure if I have the label scanned or not....just a minute. I didn't but give me a few minutes and I'll scan it and do another post.. By the way  this is my center square.
