I'm new to the group this year, and I thought the rules and regulations were pretty clear:  center block out by the 15th of Jan., 1st border by Jan 30., 2nd border 2 weeks later, 3rd border 2 weeks later, 4th and 5th each have one month!  I know there are lots of people who had planned way ahead or finished  by the 1st of Jan., and the rules DO state to go ahead and send early, but at least the girls in my group have been understanding and good about sticking to the rules I stated above, so I don't see what all the fuss is about.  As long as you got your center block out on time, everything should go as directed.  Even if I get my next project early, I'm not going to let it bother me as long as I stay with the plan.

Thea:

And my last comment before I shut my mouth - there were members who signed up to do 2 centers so that we could have the number of people we do participating - if they had not done this several people that wanted to participate might have not been able to because the numbers were not there - I am glad for the other members that they did...

Thea is correct and someone also gave up her spot so that someone else could be in this round robin! I followed Round Robin 2 and knew ahead of time that I would be in RR3 and had my center done before way before Thanksgiving so I could enjoy the holidays and be ready for RR3 start.

This is my first Round Robin and I think the rules are very clear.   Start January 1.  Round 1-Send by/around January 15.  Round 2- Send by/around January 30.  Round 3- Send by/around February 15.  Round 4- Send by/around March 15.  Round 5 Send by/around April 15.   Rounds 2 and 3 have two weeks to work on centers. Rounds 4 and 5 have four weeks.  If you finish early, contact your receiver and see if they are ready, if not, wait until they are.  Communicate with your group and things will go smoothly.  I am quite pleased with my group, we all talk every couple days and we are all working together on dates.

I know a lot of us are new to QCA and the groups but A LOT have been here a while and they have gotten along and things have worked out well.

Candis and Barbara- I think you're doing a great job and I am happy to be a part of  Round Robin 3!

Well said Erin, She is correct.  All the time frames are correct, if you finish ahead of time you must contact your receiver. If she is ready then you may send.  Stefi Kay is also correct. This worked well last Robin.  Everything seems to running smoothly.  I also said no one should have more than 1 top at a time in their possession. In summary. Everyone is doing great keeping on schedule, the communication seems wonderful,  if there are any further questions don't hesitate to PM me. I tried to be thorough with the directions and time frames, but we are all human. This is suppose to be fun not stressful.  If for any reason someone does not or can not participate at any time, I am the back up.  No questions asked..     One more thing.  Please make sure you are leaving at least a quarter inch border to your piece for the next member. Also square up your work.  This helps get a beautiful piece back.   Thanks

My My....It seems we are a little stressed this morning.   Maybe we should all take a really deep breathe and relax.   Now we can go back to sewing and having fun.  This is supposed to be fun not stressful.  We all know that sometimes life gets in the way and things happen.  As long as everyone communicates and lets their team members know what is going on this will run smoothly.  I think that most of my team is already done with their first borders but they know that the person mailing to me was late getting her center finished and I still am waiting to receive it.   They are all understanding and willing to hold on to the centers they have finished until I can get some work done on the one coming to me.    Instead of getting upset with each other just communicate.  Most of us are flexible.

Everyone,  Can I say one more thing about the communication. PM's are okey, but please communicate through posts here and read them often. Everyday if possible to keep on track.  Thanks.

Linda

I know that my group does alot of general chit chat via PM but we also try to check in here frequently and make sure everything is going well.   That was one of Candis' ground rules....LOL>   Everyone needed to post at least every few days just so she knew what was going on in each group.

 HI Pat,

I am glad I saw this, I only saw this by clicking on your name-I never saw it posted anywhere else on the RR3 group. There is no reason-the borders added to my block can't be simple - I'm worried that I made the center too tied into the colors I used. But, I open to anything color-wise except obviously brown family ones, since that wouldn't go in my opinion.

  Have fun !

Candace

Hi Candace,

You didn't see it posted here because you send me a PM (private message) those do not show here only on my page. Your block is gorgeous, I have an idea what I'm going to do for your border. I ordered material online and just waiting for it to arrive so I can start on your border.

Wow!  lots of discussion today about rules.   I've got my border done but am patiently waiting for Thea.  That's the way I am, I like to get tings done early and then I can relax and not be in a panic.  Good thing is its gotten me to work on some of my UFOs - finished one and have started working on another, well actually working on two.
