Maggie, those are wonderful quilts--so colorful!  Any child would love them.  Have a great time.  My grandkids live a couple of states away so I only see them once, maybe twice a year.  If I didn't live in the "boonies" I would SKYPE them.  Someday we hope to move closer to them.  Anyway, have a safe trip and really enjoy your time with everyone!

I haven't been on here in a while so I thought I would post.  Things have been crazy around my house and I forget I am supposed to blog!!!  Yesterday, my son Chase turned 13 so I now officially have a teenager in my house!!!  I have been working on Kim Sue's center and am about done putting on the border!!!  It's amazing how one border can add so much to the center!  I can't wait to see all the quilts when they are done.

I am leaving tomorrow on a Moda Quilting Cruise with my Mom and sister!!!  I am so excited!!!  I will try to post some pictures while on the cruise to show you our projects if I can figure out how to do that!!!  If not, I will post them when I get back.  We are cruising to Mexico, Belize and Hondurus!!!

Happy Quilting!!!

Maggie, the kids look like the quilts were a big hit. Have a safe and fun trip. The Grandma hugs are the best.

Delena, Have fun on your cruise. Looking forward to the pictures.

Maggie, the quilts are really cute! Have a great weekend.   Cupcake is here and we've been repairing buttons on coats and hemming pant legs, playing on the iPad, reading books and talking about her birthday Tuesday.  We are going to take her to dinner and give her a few presents but her party isn't until Friday night. That's the only time everyone can get together because of work or school.

I hope Nana's quilt will be here Monday and I can get to the LQS Tuesday morning. I'm really hoping that my original plan will work for Nana's center!  I'll send La Shawn's out when Zsofia lets me know she is back from AZ.

Well, back to the kiddo..she is telling me she misses me...LOL  Hope everyone is having a great weekend and getting in some good sew time.

Delena, hope you have a wonderful time on your cruise, I will sure be thinking about you while I work and your cruise. :)

I am finishing up with the one I am working on and will send to Linda by Tuesday, maybe Monday.  I had fun working on it and can't wait to see them finished!

I didn't get near enough done on Barbara's center as I would have liked this weekend.  I intend to put all my attention to it tomorrow (Sunday) but can't promise that I will have it done . . . . I'm sorry :(

What kind of work are you looking for?

Susie:

ARGHH!!  I have tried to get EQ5 to print my borders to no avail.  And I can't draw it out on paper, I have tried.

So...I had to figure something else out.  So much for best laid plans!  Anyway, I have a plan for what I'm going to do now.  I have to get it all taken care of today, at least, that's my plan!

Kristin--I'll still be ready for the quilt next week.  Carolyn--I may not be able to mail out Kristin's block until the end of the week, though.  I have to wait until my unemployment check comes through before I will have money for the shipping.

On an upside, I've had two interviews and am hopeful that it will result in an offer!  The expected start date would be Feb 11th.  Please keep your fingers crossed for me!

Delena,  How I envy you your cruise. I know you'll have great fun. I went on a ladies only cruise years ago and it was great. Of course it wasn't a quilting one.

Kristin--I'm done with your block!  It looks mah-velous, if I do say so myself.  I think you are going to like it, and it's going to be easy for the others to have some fun as well.

Carolyn--I should be able to get it to the post office tomorrow, so you should have it by Thursday.  Happy Days!

For those that asked, I do payroll.  the job I've interviewed twice for is an Accounting position, doing AR/AP and Payroll.  I'm really excited about it, and am hoping to hear something within the next few days.

Susie, good luck. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I know how rough it can be. My husband lost his job of 27 years, went to college at 50 and graduated with honors. Then he has been unable to find a job in his field in our area. We are sure it's his age. He now works in the cafeteria at the university he graduated from as of July 2012. It's been rough. I work for the State and haven't had a raise in 2 years (no matter what Quinn says about State employees, it's not true). I just lost $200 a month due to SS tax increase and this pay I lose an additional $100 a month because I turned 55 and my life insurance went up. In February we lose $800 a month from my DH'S part-time job that he is losing. I definitely feel your pain!

On a better note I had a wonderful time with my sons, daughters-in-law, and my grand daughters. We had the birthday party for my son and his wife on Saturday afternoon followed by a Netflix movie and pizza. Then I spent some time with my Mom Saturday night. Sunday morning we all went to the $5 showing of Parental Guidance. It was hilarious!  We ate lunch at iHop and went to the farm store so I could buy some tall jeans (I'm 6' so it's hard to find tall women's jeans). Then we walked around Sheels. It is like a bass pro and I'd never been before. It was great!  Then I came back and spent the evening with my mom. I'm headed to the Vet this morning, having lunch with a friend and doing show and tell (I'm showing Zsofia's quilt top), then I'm headed home. It has been a wonderful 3-day weekend and I'm sorry it's over so soon.

Thanks everyone for the compliments on the owl quilts. We snuggled under them while we watched a Netflix movie Saturday night. It felt great. I got lots of grandma hugs and kisses!

Linda sent me a pattern to use my vintage handkerchiefs.  I got it in the mail today.  Thank you, thank you.  Going to show it to beloved tonight since they belonged to his grandmother and see what he thinks.  I love quilters.  We are a rare bunch.
