Being pretty new to quilting I tend to stick with patterns that have all the info there, who knows, this may open new doors for me?  I figure for $24.00 I can see if designing my own quilts is my thing or not. If it is I will buy EQ7, if not I am only out a few dollars.  :D

Liz- yes Electric Quilt (EQ) is a computer software program that you can design your own quilts. I ordered their beginners version to try it out and see if it my thing or not.

A year ago my son Samuel had brain surgery.  Today he had an EEG which came out normal.  Since I was in town I went to the fabric store.  I found the most beautiful fabric for Laura's center.  I'll start sewing tomorrow.  Right now we are too busy celebrating.

This message is for Jackie--

Please tell me you are kidding.  I am new to this whole thing, and while I have been stressed about parts of it, I wouldn't quit.  Keep your chin up--don't you love sewing and quilting?  You say you are doing more un-sewing than sewing; perhaps a little soft music or something would help you through your tough times.  We all have those kinds of days once in awhile.  PLEASE try to enjoy it!

Dyen4fun, it was a bad day.  I'm expecting company and want to get the border finished before they come so I'm a bit stressed. Things weren't coming together the way I wanted and I'd been up since 5 am working on the border, so, no I wasn't kidding. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better, less stressful day and I can finish the border. Thanks for your concern. I'll be fine.

Much better today as I completed the border. I'm happy with it as I think it showcases the lovely center block. I was just stressed because of working on someone else's quilt and I wanted to make it look good. That and company coming. Now I can clean house:(

Please don't stress, Jackie.  You're not in my group, but if you were, I wouldn't want you stressing out about my quilt.  Lots of us on the site are relatively new to quilting and I saw somewhere that the round robin was supposed to be for beginner to intermediate skill levels.  Sure, some people are probably going to do amazing things, but that is certainly not expected from anyone, at least from my perspective.  It's meant to be fun, so if you're stressing, I'd say maybe do something simpler and easier for the next center you get.  Also, feel free to take your time.  While some people are finishing up early, we really have 2 weeks for the first 2 quilts and then we'll have 30 days for the next to.  There's no shame in taking the full time allowed.

I'm so happy you got such wonderful news. What a way to celebrate. I'll have to remember to treat myself to more fabric the next time I have a chance to celebrate. I hope you all went out for some ice cream too!
