I know that Maggie is having a hard time getting her center ready to ship.  She has lots of intricate hand applique.   But it is ok if she is a few days late.   I have pretty much decide what I am doing with hers.  Will just need to see the colors so that I can match up good.

She posted yesterday in our PM that it was serged and in the washer; have not heard from her since (I know she works) but maybe she has mailed it, unless I missed a message along the way.

I have my border together, just not attached to center yet...I am having a little issue.  :/    I am going to PM you Barbara...

If I order a quilt program will it help me with math part too?   Like....once I create my design will it tell me what size my blocks should be and how fabric is needed?  I am getting so frustrated!  I'd rather put my money into a program instead of having to keep wasting fabric. :/  We may not eat for a couple weeks but who needs food??  LOL

Erin--I'm sure it will, especially if you get the new one.  I'm trying to learn EQ5, and it will tell me how much fabric, based on the coloring in the quilt (read--fabric selected.)  I'm using only solid colors just for calculation purposes.  The only part I've printed so far is for a couple of applique pieces.  So, I can't tell you if it prints the cutting instructions as well.  But I'm with you--that's where I struggle with my sketches.

Susie

The EQ programs do give cutting instructions as well as fabric requirements.  I have found that the programs figure a little high on fabric requirements though.

Erin,

I started with an inexpensive program from the EQ Co.This was Quilt Design Wizard. It printed fabric yardage estimates, rotary cutting charts, templates or foundation piecing patterns and instructions. It had layouts and borders, fabrics,  blocks. And the word here was inexpensive. This was a few years back, but check out their website for what they offer today. You may also find the newest version at your local quilt shop. I am now using EQ7 and have Blockbase. These are a little more expensive, but if you can afford EQ7, you can do more, so go for it.

Amazon has that program for less than $25. I think I will try it. Thanks!

I have that one and it's certainly not comparable to the EQ's but is still a lot of fun to play with. The borders are limited.

You gals are so smart!  Gosh, reading about the electronic programs for design and I am just amazed.  will be checking out Quilt Design Wizard for sure.  So much I don't know about quilting, I feel like a newbie!

Got my border all done last night on Kristie's center and even took a picture.  So now I can just relax this week and wait for others to get done.  Feels good, I'm not always as patient as I could be, but I abhor me making anyone else wait.  Major pet peeve so I like to get things done right when I get them.  (Secret is, otherwise I may lose it or set it somewhere and then can't find it)  Course, everyone else in my family is a last minute person - drives me crazy!

Checking in-  almost done with the piecing of the borders for Dana's quilt- just need to add a few more pieces and then attach.  On schedule and I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. :)

I have decided this is not fun. Doing as much re-sewing, as sewing. I will do my part with this RR but from now own I'll stick to my own thing.
