Ginny, me too. I need to pull myself up by my slipper straps and put my feet up, turn on my favorite movies and hand appliqué on my center. Oops, not tonight. My mom and her hubby will be in from New Mexico and will leave in the morning (taking their three dogs which just leaves my three). Oh we'll, I still have until the 14th. Hahaha

My beloved is a computer engineer but that doesn't mean I'm tech savvy so this will be a learning experience in several ways. The kid's horseback riding lessons got canceled due to rain so we drove to town and went to the library. Intermixed with the books on wildlife, baseball and pirates are two books on borders. Going to spend the rest of the day sketching out ideas since I've seen all the centers but one. Happy day.

I just ran out and bought more silk thread. They say it doesn't show on hand appliqué if you just use a dark or light colored thread. Meaning you don't have to color match your thread to fabric. Either I'm really bad at this or they're full of whoee! LOL. Back to the movies, my slippers, and my lounge chair (yes, I had to change out of my pjs to go get thread). Happy stitching!

If you take really tiny bites out of the applique fabric the silk threads don't show if you use light, medium, and dark neutrals. Of course it can take lots of practice to reach that stage...LOL> And some days every stitch I take wants to show.

Nana, it seems I'm doing pretty good by the time I go to bed but in the morning I do several appliqués before my stitches don't show. That is partly why I wanted to do this center. Practice won't make perfect in my case but it sure can't hurt. I love the way it's coming together. If there weren't a few oops in it it wouldn't be as special. LOL
Ooops, I forgot to include a label. But I really don't have a clue about how to do it. Any pictures or suggestions? I can always send it around with the next batch.
OK! I think I finally have the idea--this is where I post for you, right, Candis? I have been chatting quite frequently with my group, getting to know them. Been very hard at work on my quilt block and finally finished it and my notebook last night. Just going to give it a press today, snap a couple of pictures to post (hopefully, if I get that down), get my label ready and ship off to Zsofia tomorrow. And I'll post on the appropriate site. Did I get everything right?
