Oh boy...I forgot about the label as well!  I'll add that to my list of things that need to be done just as soon as I can get the quilt off my machine.  Guess I'd better get off the silly computer and haul my tushie over to my machine.

Maggie aka Grandma Sunshine:

Ok, I'm trying to simplify my rereading of posts. Is there a way to search discussions within a group for topics? i.e. packing, label, etc

do not know, but i wil find out, in the mean time here is my post. soon there will only be three threads to look at. less confusing.

Hi everyone In Round Robin 3, I have sent your Group Information to all of you by private message.. Please look it over make sure your information is correct. I checked , and triple checked but mistakes happen.  If anything is wrong just PM me please. If you are the last name on your group list You will go to the top of the list and that is your person to send to.  You will only send to one person through out the Robin.  The persons name under yours is your person.   A few house keeping items.  please read any posts I make, they contain valuable information for all.  Ask questions when you dont understand anything.  We are all here to help and support one another. If at any time you get stuck for ideas, just PM one of your buddies, or me or Barbara, she is my right hand Gal!! We bounce ideas and send pics to one another all the time... so this is an option.  If for any reason you cannot finish the Robin due to an emergency or illness, I am the back up person.  It is imperative that you communiicate very often, if someone doesnt post in a few days, believe me we worry, and will go hunting for you.  If you know you wont be on line for a few days tell us please.   If you smoke in your home,  please be respectful of the piece you are working on. We have had a few that smelled really bad, and people had allergies to this.  Make a label for your quilt if you would like to, this could be just a square of fabric. The members of your group will all sign it.  Send little gifts to your group members if you wish to. For instance fat quarters, Patterns, notions, quilt writing pens, book marks etc.  this is not mandatory but it is nice and fun... also you may include some of your fabric used in your center if you wish to have this used. Again not mandatory, It should only be used in small amts .anyway       Remember to try and follow the Block Makers wishes, color coordinate, try to make it cohesive, creative. think outside the box, and outside your comfort zone, Now is the time to learn and let those artistic and creative juices flow.  Be very mindful of the time limits. We will stick to them.  this is very important to avoid frustration of your team members.  Before you send out a piece to your person, make sure they are ready to receive it, especially if you finish early. And yo can send it early, you do not have to wait the time limit to mail out.  as long as your person isnt working on another one. you should only have one center to work on at a time.   there are two people that are in two groups, due to some members having to drop out.  I will post all the groups, but not with addresses. just for clarity.  I have also removed people from membership that are not participating. they can read the posts but they can not post, again this is to avoid confusion.   I want this to be fun for all, but please remember be kind, and respectful of others, and above all communicate,  please!!!  I think thats it,  Whew!!!!!  Now lets get started!!!!!!   woooo hooooooo!!!!

I will be getting my notebook and label ready today and I am going to go over my center and double check stitches (to make sure everything is right). I will be ready to mail out by end of week if my receiver is ready.

Happy New Years!

Candis I have a few questions:

How do we coordinate the sending off the blocks? Or I just post the date when I send mine out? ( I don't want to send/receive blocks before I'm/the others ready and send the wrong one out.)

Is it possible to set up threads for the individual groups (beside the general thread)? It would be easier to see and communicate with the members (well it would help me keep up with the two groups anyways :) ).

Better I go and start my block for the secound group.

I have started a thread called , post here when sending or receiving blocks. When yours is done, you just post asking your receiver if she is ready for it, she will post back if she is, then when you actually send it you will post again to her saying its on the way.   For the people sending to you, be sure  to PM them and tell them about what to write to your postman.   When the person receives your block she will post saying it got there safely.  This has worked well for all the other Robins.  You can also private message them too if you want, but I like to see it in the discussion board, I can then keep track of what's happening everywhere.    Hope that helps

I've got to get my center done; was ill for the last week, but I'm much better- darn sinus infection! Where do we see the list that we will send to? I'll post my center on Tuesday, After my all day quilt class that I'll be attending on Saturday. Guess what I'll be working on? Yep, my center. Have a great day, all! Happy New Year!!

I have sent you two private messages.  Go to your home page and click on my conversations, you will find your group info there. Please let me know if you got it, this is how we communicate. It's important you know how to find your messages.  Thank you

Well, I'm sure I'm not the only one to put my block back on the night schedule. It's time to go back to work after an extended holiday weekend. Three days and I can work on it again 24/7. HAHAHA!  Next RR I will do something simpler and be done early. I'd rather be the early bird instead of bringing up the rear. ;-). Funny thing, the center that is coming to me first just popped immediately and I already know what to do. At least I don't have to be concerned that an idea won't come to me on the first pass. I love the fact that some people are choosing to post their center blocks. It will only help those of us in the first pass because we don't know what the next quilter is going to do that changes the overall vision of the quilt. How exciting!!!!

Thanks to Erin we have a PM group conversation for our RR group. Something the other groups might want to discuss, before mailing off their pieces for any of the passes, are smoke and pets for those of us who have allergies. I didn't even think about it until Candis mentioned smoking. You may want to share with your group if you smoke or have pets in your household. I have allergies to smoke and cats but there are meds I can take in advance of opening a package if I know The household it is ciming from has anything that will set me off. There are also things the sender can do to help like add a dryer sheet or small bar of zest soap to their package. Both help with smoke. I don't know of anything that will help with pet dander except a good toss in the dryer on air dry right before packaging for the mail.
