I haven't posted my center block either. I'm still working on it. We have until the 15th and while I understand the excitement, it's not a race. I want to enjoy the experience. The centers I've seen are very nice and I will do my best to make a pleasing border.

Really cute Kristie.

"Fabricologist Resource Center" ...now doesn't that sound more impressive than "fabric stash" ?
Carolyn : This is a work in progress, but I've been so slow about it over the holidays and wanted to go ahead and let you guys know the general idea in case you're wondering... This block was from a book. I enlarged it to triple it's original size, which makes it the appropriate size for our center block. I was going for a rain-forest-y look. Hibiscus in Hawaiian rain-forest. The bright greens are ruining it in my mind, because they draw the eye to the wrong lines. So I am in the process of switching out the bright greens for more darker, neutral greens that will blend in more. I realize that the flower blends in with the background a little and that's ok with me. I like the colors and I like the sort of "feel" it has - reminds me of a lush, vibrant rain-forest, where there is so much life all around. The fabrics are batiks. Colors are pinks, dark greens, and a bit of cream. THE BRIGHT GREENS WILL BE GONE BEFORE I SEND OUT!! I think they're all wrong. So.. .work in progress, but here's what I have so far. :)

Ok, I've finally finished swapping out those bright green blocks in my center. I had a real hard time swapping them out, so there are many puckers and uneven seams and the center just doesn't lie flat, but it will just have to be that way. I've put SO much time and effort into this and I really want to use it! :) I added a couple borders to give you ladies something flat and square to work with.
Very nice and wonderful inspiration in your design.
Wow Carolyn. I was really afraid that your flower was going to disappear into the background. This is absolutely stunning.

Looks fantastic Carolyn! Changing out the greens made the flower stand out and shine. Great job. And I like the borders you added too. ;-D

Gosh, rereading some posts and looking at what my group has for their center blocks and just realized both Kristie and Thea have done cats.

WOOHOO!!! I finished mine! FINALLY! I'm not 100% happy with the border I put on it, but wanted it to be somewhat neutral, sticking with the RWB theme. This one is going to be for my son, who is fanatically patriotic. I'll put my vision in with the center when I send it out.
