Thanks everyone for the comments on my 2nd block. The vision for this is lots of warm colors and 'everything but the kitchen sink' ;) in design. Have fun with it!

I love the printed panel and the trapunto and trace stitches really make it lovely. I'm curious about your vision too. Aren't you glad I'm holding things up until the 15th?  Hahaha

It is fusible, machine applique!  I actually modified a pattern so if would fit within our size guidelines.  My only thought process was that I love the color purple and butterflies.  My group will pretty much have free reign to do what they want.  I can't wait to see what they do!!!

Delena,  WOW!   From the picture, it's hard to tell how the butterfly is done? I guess I'll find out soon, I'm second to get your center.  I have a few butterfly fabrics. But hope you let us know what your vision is.

Personally, I like the bright greens.  The jungle has all shades of green and I like your block the way it is.

Here is my block (forgive the wavy bits, mostly due to laying on the carpet). It measures 26.5 " square. I'm going for a cat theme- bright fabrics and white and black.

Kristie--I love your cat center!

I'm still working on mine.  I have a new appreciation for the tiny quilts that Gini does...my center has 1" (finished) squares and it is sure taking me a LOOONNNNGGG time to get them stitched together!  I'm liking what I have so far, but really, desperately need to get it finished up.  Off to refill my coffee cup and work on another piece of it.

Wow Kristie, this is so cute. My daughter would love it. Everyone's blocks are so imaginative. I can't wait to get mine done. Sorry I'm so slow.

Kristie,

i love these cats in bold colors. I have a friend who did a similar cat quilt in the bold primary colors. It turned out beautiful. I'm sure yours will be just as stunning.

Mellisa,

I'm the only one in my group who does not have her block done. We have until the 15th and that is what I planned for. Don't worry about the fact you are behind others in your group. You should love your block and it should be a fun experience (good advice from group 3).  I'm anxious to get m bock completed but I also don't want to stress over it. That takes all the joy out of it. Like I said earlier, it will be a pj and slipper weekend because I plan on doing nothing but sewing. WooHoo!

Kristie very cute!  This will be fun for your group, cannot wait to see it when it is finished.

I'm still plugging away at my last minute idea. So far I am very happy with how it is coming out. Just got a call that the grand daughter wants to come spend the weekend so I will move the machines to the kitchen. That way I can work on the project tonight while she is sleeping.  If you don't hear from me, I am just hanging out with Cupcake and will be back Sunday afternoon sometime.

Have a great weekend..Erin
