Carolyn, it will be pretty no matter what you take away and put back. I love hibiscus and think you've done a wonderful job.
All I have done all day is go from embroidery machine, to sewing machine, to computer. I didn't even realize how late it was until it started getting dark!! I need to fix DH something to eat and get back to the machines. I just love how I always think of something last minute then panic and obsess until it is finished :/ Oh well, it will be well worth it in the end.

Very elegant. I can't wait for my turn on your center. I will be putting the last border on, I will put my thinking cap on, starting right now. My son took Japanese for approximately 6 years. He wanted to learn what he was seeing on some of his favorite video games. I think I will let him help me with some ideas. He has taken some of Japanese cultural classes too.
I am a little like you in the quilting department. But, I call my OCD-Creative juices flowing. "CJF." I usually have 3-4 quilting or piecing projects going at all times. I bet you center is not Hideous. Let us look, you never know-we might all love it. But, if you need any good ideas-Quilt in a Day website has free patterns and I quilt there and I have never had any pattern go wrong from there.

i agree that more earth greens will show off your flower more. It all depends on what you want as your focal. I like it and think you did a wonderful job. Your group will have a lot of fun with this block.

Bonita it was from a pattern I just used the center of the quilt .I got it here in the free patterns It is the" flutter collection wall quilt" in the free patterns .
